The e-Coaching Collection is designed to offer ongoing coaching support and development to teachers and schools around a variety of literacy topics. Each e-Workshop consists of a sequence of videos, produced and facilitated by CLG’s teacher development coaches, as well as planning templates, anchor charts for quick teaching reference, and more. We’ve carefully chunked each video series so information can be processed in parts, typically over the course of 2-3 hours.
In these unprecedented times of virtual teaching and safe, in-person instruction, we’re thinking a lot about the importance of – and the challenges with – getting to know our students individually. How can we work around virtual and physical barriers to uncover who our students are as writers? How can we use what we learn to support and teach writers?
This e-Workshop will provide teachers with a toolkit of different types of writing assessments, guide teachers in analyzing assessments for strengths and next steps, and coach teachers around utilizing different kinds of conferences with that information in mind. The goal is to tailor our teaching to students’ individual needs in ways that feel both meaningful and manageable.
e-Workshop #1: Assessing + Conferring with Writers will be an asynchronous/pre-recorded learning experience that allows participants to work in their own time and space. Participants will receive coaching videos, notetaking and planning templates, and anchor charts for quick reference, and will have access to all materials for three months.
Within one business day of the receipt of registration and payment, participants will receive e-Workshop materials. In addition, three hours of CPDU credit will be given upon completion of a survey.
Individual teachers or whole schools can register for the e-Workshop and pay via School Purchase Order, Chase QuickPay/Zelle, or PayPal. Once registration is complete, participants have access to the e-Workshop for three months, so they have the opportunity to revisit any part of the videos or accompanying materials.
